The season 2015 finally is over. The last races were Russian championships final in Sochi (Olympics capital 2014), 9-12 November. Forest courses were quite tricky because of steep and slippery slopes (cold heavy rains brought a lot of difficulties).
There are a lot of top-level runners who are coaches for themselves in elite orienteering. One of them is great Thierry Gueorgiou. He has incredible 12 gold medals from WOC. He got victories in every WOC-discipline (Middle, Long, Sprint, Relay), he won several times Jukola/Tiomila and many other top-international competitions. One of the most respectable athlete in the modern Orienteering tells about his approach to coaching him-self.
It is 1 day left before Tiomila. Relays are the very special event in any sport and there are some regularities in Relays. My runners won twice Tiomila - in 2012 (women and men class). In this post I will keep focus mainly in women Relay.

Day 0. Sprint Relay was the first event. I had quite good team - first leg - Julia Novikova, second and third leg - Georgiy Mavchun from Russia and Joao Mega Figueiredo (Portugal). My teammates gave me the 7th position and I completed relay at the 3rd place with the best leg time.

One hour ago series of sprint races in Bergen ended . I was running 3 sprint races+1 O-intervals during last 40 hours. Those were interesting courses with tricky surface (snow, puddles, asphalt, grass, and ice).
